    Healthy Breakfast Fruit Smoothie Recipe

I know green smoothies are all the rage right now, but let's be honest, a pink smoothie looks so much more appetizing! I have a wonderfully healthy smoothie recipe for you today. It's naturally sweetened, packs the power of both pomegranate and sour cherries, and is dairy-free. Sour Cherry and Pomegranate Detox Smoothie is pretty much amazing. Pomegranate and dark sour cherries are my two special ingredients in this smoothie. Did you know that pomegranates contain a higher concentration of antioxidants than cranberry juice, red wine, blueberries, or green tea? I like using the whole arils too, instead of just juice, for the added fiber.

Sour Cherry and Pomegranate Detox Smoothie

This power pomegranate detox smoothie is a great way to start off your healthy eating. I find myself craving sugar—lots of it— and the effects of sugar withdrawal can be harsh. So in order to help myself along, I enjoy a sweet smoothie in the afternoon or before bed, when my sugar cravings hit the hardest. The fruit and natural sugar help to make a no-refined sugar challenge so much better.

Sour cherries are a powerhouse when it comes to health benefits, too—and they’re amazing in smoothies! They add just the right tang to make the smoothie a real treat to your palate. Sour cherries are known to help reduce inflammation (a common side effect of sugar consumption), aid sleep, and also help your muscles heal more quickly. What’s not to love? The pineapple juice and banana are my sweeteners, and the banana really makes for a great texture.

This smoothie is just the thing to make your healthy new goals a real treat. Not only is it good for your body, but it’s also good for your soul. Enjoy!

What are the Healthy Parts of a Detox Smoothie?

Detox smoothies pack a powerful punch to your health, with fiber, antioxidants, vitamins, and minerals to give your body the things it needs to feel your best. Even better is they avoid the things your body doesn't love, like processed ingredients and excess sugars.

How Can I Make the Smoothie Less Sour?

Sour smoothies can be a pleasant change in flavor, but sometimes a smoothie is too sour. The recipe contains pineapple and banana to sweeten a little, and you can add more if you want. If you still want to tone down the sour you can embrace the sourness or use a low-calorie sweetener. Honey is also a natural sweetener option if you don't mind sugar but want to avoid anything processed.

What Other Flavors Could I Add to this Smoothie?

Other fruits like berries or citrus fruits keep the tart flavor of the smoothie and can add some extra vitamin c. A less conventional but also delicious option is to add ginger to the recipe, which also has some awesome health benefits!
