Christmas Magic Cookie Bars Recipe | Addictive + Easy Christmas Treats

These Christmas Magic Cookie Bars are made with simple ingredients you most likely already have on hand! Perfect for last minute holiday baking and eating. But watch out - these Christmas cookies are super addictive!

    Christmas Magic Cookies

    Christmas Magic Cookie Bars

Confession: I have an outstanding "Mom Date" with a few of my girlfriends to watch Hallmark Christmas movies every Tuesday in December. We've watched Cookie Jar and another one with Candace Cameron Bure in it so far. I'm not sure how this informal mini-tradition started, but I'm so pleased it did. We planned it at a time when the bulk of our kids would be at school or preschool. So we all show up with our littlest babies, bring a treat to share, and let the littles run around while we sneak in a midday Christmas movie just because we can. This. Is. The. Life!

A Super Easy Christmas Cookie Recipe

When I comes to treats to share, I'm all about something that's easy to put together with ingredients I have on hand. Christmas Magic Cookie Bars are just the kind of thing I'm talking about. You dump all the ingredients into a baking pan and walk away. These simple treats are extra addictive though, and just the kind of thing you'll want to take somewhere, so you aren't tempted to eat the whole pan yourself. No Hallmark Christmas movie day dates in your future? These would work well for all kinds of holiday parties, post caroling get-togethers, and church Christmas functions.

This recipe is so very adaptable too. No pecans? Try chopped almonds or leave them out all together. You can change up the candy for just about any holiday or use something like toffee pieces or butterscotch chips in their place. That's part of the "magic" of this recipe.

    Description

You'll never believe how easy these magic cookies bars are to make and they are festive, delicious, and simple.

    Ingredients

    Scale
    •  ½ cup butter, melted
    • 1 and ½ cup graham cracker crumbs (one package/sleeve of crackers)
    • 1 can sweetened condensed milk (14 oz.)
    • 1 cup chocolate chips
    • 11/2 cup shredded coconut
    • 1 cup chopped pecans
    • ¼ cup chocolate candy pieces (optional)

    Instructions

    1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
    2. Put the melted butter in 9 by 13 inch baking dish. Sprinkle graham cracker crumbs over the butter.
    3. Pour sweetened condensed milk evenly over crumbs.
    4. Add chocolate chips and then top evenly with remaining ingredients. Press down gently.
    5. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until lightly browned. Cool thoroughly before cutting. Store loosely covered at room temperature.

    Notes

This is a fun and flexible recipe to get creative with. If you don’t like something it can be omitted or substituted. Any nuts would be work well. Alternative topping would include M&M to match the holiday, toffee bits, butterscotch chips or sprinkles.

Christmas Magic Cookie Bars are simple holiday treats.

I know I'm not the only one that is loving all the Hallmark Christmas movies, so let's hear it - which ones should we put on our list to watch the rest of this month?! We are all about the cheesy love story just FYI. Any other super easy treats I should know about? I really like this salted caramel pretzel bark and these Ritz Cookies (no-bake), too.

Thank you for stopping in and enjoy these Christmas Magic Cookie Bars, from my kitchen to yours.

We watched "Let It Snow" with Candice Cameron-Bure recently. Two thumbs up and happy tears.....Can't help it, I wear my heart on my shirt sleeve. And....oh....magic cookie bars....I despised coconut until it was mixed with sweetened condensed milk....LOVE! I may or may not be guilty of having an opened can of that amazing stuff under my bed to enjoy when I was a kid. How was I supposed to know she knew what was in the cupboards! Geesh!
