    Our Biggest Mess:House Tour July

I was visiting a friend on the 4th and she harassed me about not updating about the house. I told her I hadn't hung pictures, put things on the bookshelf, and the trim isn't done. Her reply?  So?!
So dear reader, and Heather, here is a look at the house. Don't judge my lack of pictures in the frames (it's hard to get things like that done when there is so much else to do). And I'm thoroughly enjoying my lack of things on the bookshelf. After living for almost nine months in one tiny room, everything crammed in, I am enjoying my lack of cramming.
Living in this part of the house still feels like a dream. I often wonder how I ever made it through our months without a kitchen. It's one of those things I'm glad we did but would never choose to do again.
If you are new to the blog, take a minute to check out the "Our Biggest Mess" tab at the top. We bought our house in September and have been gutting and remodeling since day one. We are finishing phase one but still have LOTS left to do.
And now on to the house tour!
    Lovely and carpeted living room:
My steamer trunk that I adore (and paid $25 for!). Notice the trim. Thomas has been painting and working on it and it looks amazing. I love the finishing touches that really make things look and feel complete.
The other end of the living room. This hutch has my computer in it:

    Front door and photo collage:

And lest you forget, the hutch:

It's so nice to have my pretties out of the barn and where I can use them.

     Kitchen from the hall:

Opposite of the hutch, at the other end of the table, my wipe board and calendar:

    Pantry!

Seriously, one of my favorite spots in the house:

    And the hutch again:

There you have it, a little tour, pictures just from this morning. We have trim left to do and that is about it. If you are confused about the layout and what we have changed (a bedroom used to be where my table now sits) check out some floor plans.

Lovely isn't it? Now if only it was self-cleaning. Thanks for reading. It's so much fun sharing all this hard work with you.

Yay!! It looks so good! I bet you're loving it. And I remember when you bought that trunk--didn't I help you pick it up or something? Good times 🙂

I'm glad to hear its taking you guys a long time too. Now that we have been here 6 months I am getting frustrated with myself, that although we've been working hard the whole time, there is still SO much left for us to do. It's nice to have the essentials out of the way though...like carpet! 🙂
