Recipe FAQs
Yes. I like to line the baking sheet with parchment paper because it makes for a super clean s’more-making experience.
If you are looking for a classic s’more, you will want to use milk chocolate. You can also mix it up and use white chocolate, dark chocolate, Nutella, or Reese’s peanut butter cups.
I like to use jet-puffed marshmallows or marshmallows made specifically for s’mores. I’ve also heard success from using marshmallow creme.
Expert Tips
- Place the chocolate on the graham cracker before the marshmallow. This helps the chocolate to melt more uniformly as the marshmallow toasts. Additionally, consider breaking the chocolate into smaller pieces for more even melting.
- Keep a close eye on the s’mores while they are in the oven, as the marshmallows can go from perfectly toasted to burnt very quickly.
- Rotate the baking sheet for even toasting, and adjust the rack position to find the sweet spot between too close and too far from the broiler.

Quick and Easy Oven S’mores
Ingredients
- 1 graham cracker
- 1 marshmallow
- 1 chunk of chocolate, about 3 pieces of Hershey’s milk chocolate
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 425 degrees F. and line a rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper (or even foil), this helps to make clean up a breeze.
- Break your graham cracker in half and place it on the baking sheet. Place the marshmallow on one half and the chocolate on the other half.
- Place the pan in the oven and bake for 2-4 minute or until the marshmallow is big and puffy and lightly brown.
- Remove from the oven.
- Place the chocolate graham cracker on top of the marshmallow (chocolate and marshmallow facing each other) and enjoy!
Notes
- I normally make these when my kids have friends over to play and just make as many as will fit on my pan. Feel free to scale this recipe up to accommodate more servings.
- I played around with broiling the marshmallows for just a few seconds to get a little more color on them. Feel free to do that at the end if you’d like. I found, though, that they went from golden to charred so fast that I didn’t feel like it was worth doing.
- Don’t be afraid to experiment with the types of chocolate or candy you use. You might discover a new favorite!
- While you could store leftovers in an airtight container if you have some, they are best enjoyed immediately while everything is still melty and warm.
Thanks for this recipe. I have used this recipe several times over the summer and will continue to o use throughout the year.
The chocolate and marshmallow were great. Baking changed the consistency and taste of the crackers. At least I tried it.
