Don’t you just love meals that take no time to get ready before throwing them into the slow cooker for a few hours? All you have to do is season the pork chops with a little salt and pepper, mix up a your four-ingredient honey garlic sauce, pour it over the chops, and turn on the slow cooker for a few hours. Have you ever met an easier dinner?!

I live for and adore kitchen hacks and quick tricks like this because, with five little mouths to feed and two bigger ones, I don’t always have time for the one or two-hour dinner prep and half-hour clean-up. (I’ve got a whole collection of slow cooker recipes to choose from, too: Tikka Masala, Beef Enchiladas, Honey Teriyaki Meatballs, and more!)

  • You can use thin cut pork chops but they will cook more quickly, probably 2.5 – 3 hours.
  • Boneless chicken breasts or thighs can be used in place of the pork.
  • If you can’t have soy, you can easily substitute tamari or coconut aminos for the soy sauce.
  • If you can’t use honey, substitute maple syrup, brown rice syrup, or agave syrup. Keep in mind that these substitutions will change the flavor so you’ll have to adjust it to taste.
  • If you love a little heat with your sweet, savory flavors, add some red chili flakes to the sauce.

How to Make Slow Cooker Honey Garlic Pork Chops

Step #1. Sprinkle pork chops with salt and pepper and place in slow cooker.

Step #3. Pour the sauce over the pork chops.

Step #2. In a small bowl, combine the remaining ingredients.

Step #4. Cover the slow cooker and cook 4 hours on low or until fully cooked.

Can I use bone-in pork chops?

Yes, you can! Just keep in mind that they may take a little longer to be tender.

How can I make the sauce thicker?

Once the pork is done cooking, remove the chops from the slow cooker and cover them. Create a corn starch slurry by stirring 1-2 Tablespoons of corn starch into the same amount of water. Pour the slurry into the slow cooker and stir. Cover and cook until the sauce is thickened, 15-20 minutes.

Can I double this recipe?

Sure! Just double the ingredients and make sure your slow cooker is large enough to handle that amount.

Expert Tips

  • Trimming the fat from the pork chops before cooking will make serving and eating them easier.
  • When placing the pork chops into the slow cooker, try not to layer them directly on top of each other. They will cook more evenly if every pork chop is touching the slow cooker liner.
  • You know your slow cooker best – if it tends to run hot, decrease the cooking time and if it tends to run

What do you serve with Slow Cooker Honey Garlic Pork Chops

I love serving these pork chops over rice with broccoli. It all complements each other so well, and when you pour the honey garlic sauce over everything, the flavors melt into the rice perfectly. It’s a great hearty and healthy meal for any night of the week!

Slow Cooker Honey Garlic Pork Chops

Slow Cooker Honey Garlic Pork Chops come together super fast with minimal ingredients: pork chops, salt and pepper, garlic, honey, soy sauce, and ketchup – plus a few hours of cook time in the slow cooker. One of my favorite slow cooker pork chops recipes!
Prep: 5 minutes
Cook: 4 hours
Total: 4 hours 5 minutes
Servings: 6

Ingredients

  • 6 thick cut boneless pork chops
  • Salt and pepper
  • 2 teaspoons minced garlic, about 2 cloves
  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 1/3 cup soy sauce
  • 1/3 cup honey

Instructions

  • Pat your pork chops dry, and sprinkle with salt and pepper on both sides. Place in the bottom of the slow cooker.
  • In a small bowl, add the garlic, ketchup, soy sauce, and honey, and mix well to combine.
  • Pour the sauce over the pork chops.
  • Cover the slow cooker, and cook the pork chops for 4 hours on low, or until they are fully cooked.
  • Serve the pork hot, and spoon the extra sauce in the bottom of the slow cooker over the top. It’s also great served with rice so that the rice catches some of the sauce.

Notes

  • You can add 1/2 teaspoon of ground ginger to the sauce, if you like more of an Asian flavor. I also like to add a few chili flakes for a spicier dish.
  • If you are using thinner pork chops, your chops will cook faster. Keep an eye on them so that you don’t overcook them.
  • I like to serve the chops over rice with steamed broccoli, and then the sauce drizzled all over the whole plate. It all goes really well together. Just add salt to taste.
  • You can thicken the sauce after the pork is done cooking by removing the chops (cover them to keep warm), making a slurry of 1-2 Tablespoons for corn starch stirred into 1-2 Tablespoons of water. Stir the slurry into the sauce in the slow cooker and cover. Cook for 15-20 minutes until the sauce is thickened.

  1. Honey and garlic … now those are the perfect combo for pork. This recipe sounds fantastic. I will have to try it. Thanks for sharing.

  2. 5 stars
Just made this tonight, and WOW was it good. Amazing tasting sauce, and the most tender pork chops I’ve ever had! It’s just me, so I halved recipe for sauce, and used only 2 boneless thicker cut chops. Cooked 4hrs and 20min on low, serving with a rice recipe from Robert Irvine on food network. Drizzled sauce over rice as recommended in your notes. So yummy! Will definitely be making again!

    1. Woohoo! I love hearing a great review, and I’m go glad you were able to make it in a proportion that you needed. Happy cooking Danelle!
