Pirate Buried Treasure in a Bottle Game

pirate

Rrrrrrrrrrr you a pirate loving family?! We sure are. I go on lots of adventures with my little boys during the day. We run away from dinosaurs and cheetahs, we are good ninjas who fight "meanie bad guys", we jump over hot lava, and we are excellent treasure hunting pirates. Grandma gave all of my kids a little bag of gold chocolate coins for St. Patrick's Day and I'm pretty sure my kids don't know that there is chocolate hiding inside! We have been using them as pirate treasure all week instead of eating them. I have the kids stay in the Continue Reading →

DIY Instagram Photo Display

instadisplay

I've been dying to shares today's project and it is finally done! I made an instagram photo display out of an old wooden screen door that I found behind the house. FOUND! And the end result is gorgeous. And I'll show you how to make one of your own too. No old wooden screen doors hanging around? A big frame from the thrift store would work the same. I adore instagram (do you follow me?!). It's such a fun way to document the every day. And what I love even more is having all of those memories printed and on my wall Continue Reading →

DIY Photo Backdrop from a Pallet

backdrops

I've been in desperate need of a new photo backdrop for a long long time. I use the same wooden cutting board that I got at IKEA two years ago over and over and over again. I get crazy and bust out a place mat, a cookie sheet, or just use my retro blue counter tops on occasion, but I'm starting to feel like all of my photos look exactly the same. Photo props and backdrops to food bloggers are like shoes to other women. You can never have too many :) Can you see that same board in all these Continue Reading →

Simple DIY Bird Feeder

bird feeder

This is such a fun little project and I've been looking forward to sharing it with you. If you haven't noticed yet, we have a soft spot in our family for little friends, especially the feathered kind. May came home from kindergarten with a whole page of color photos of birds that are native to Southern Utah and was asked to help with some kind of state-wide bird watch/counting. She's supposed to keep track of what we see and how many and report back in a few months. It's been such a fun assignment! We made these simple DIY bird feeders to Continue Reading →

Minted + Julep

MIN-2T6-CHR-001CHRISTMAS_A_PZ

Great things are meant to be shared. That's what this post is... me telling you about something I think is great because I know you are going to love it too. Our family pictures were supposed to be taken today but we got rained out (and it's way too cold to take a three-week old baby out!). But that isn't stopping me from thinking about our Christmas cards! I adore sending snail-mail cards, especially at Christmas. Who doesn't love real mail? And I know my grandparents appreciate getting pictures of the grand-kids to hang on their fridge. Do you take the Continue Reading →

Last week I did a fun guest post over at The Ribbon Retreat. The Ribbon Retreat is an Idaho-based company that sells all lovely things sewing... not just ribbon! Freezer Paper Stencil Tutorial

Summer is upon us and I feel like there are a million reasons to make t-shirts. I"m sure you have some of the same reasons to craft up a t-shirt as I do. You probably have summer camps, VBS, Cub Scout camp, family reunions, vacations, and sports to attend on top of all of the fun holidays like the Fourth of July and your towns annual Strawberry Days. Why not let your kids make some of the t-shirts on their own this year? I posted a freezer paper stencil tutorial last year and I'm used the same method again this year. Continue Reading →
