Notes
Recipe Variations & Substitutions:
You can use fresh dill instead of dried dill if you’d like. You’ll want to use 2 tablespoons of freshly chopped dill.
If you don’t have sour cream then you can use plain greek yogurt. Just make sure it is plain greek yogurt, not vanilla!
I prefer the texture and flavor of freshly chopped spinach, but this really comes down to personal preference. You can use one cup of steamed spinach instead of fresh spinach, or one 10-ounce package of frozen spinach that has been squeezed and drained really well.
Add More Vegetables: To bump up the veggie intake, you can add finely chopped green onions, water chestnuts for crunch, or even artichoke hearts to create a spinach artichoke variation. Just ensure any additions are well-drained to maintain the creamy consistency.Make Ahead & Storing:
If you are not going to serve your spinach dip right away then cover it with plastic wrap and set it in the fridge until you are ready.
This dip can be stored in the fridge for up to 5 days. You can keep it in the serving dish as long as it is tightly covered with plastic wrap or you can transfer it to an airtight container.
Serving Suggestions: I like to serve spinach dip with carrots, celery, peppers, broccoli, and cauliflower. Crackers are always a hit, too!
