You can make your own batch ofAir Fryer Potato Chips with just 3 simple ingredients! These homemade potatoes are crispy, salty, and couldn’t be easier to make.
Wash your potatoes and pat them dry. Use a mandolin or knife to thinly slice the potatoes as thinly as possible.
Transfer your sliced potatoes to a large bowl filled with cold water. Allow the potatoes to sit in the water for 30 minutes.
After 30 minutes, drain the water and pat the potatoes dry with a dish towel.
Toss the potato slices with the oil and salt before transferring them to the air fryer basket.
Cook for 15 minutes, give the basket a quick shake, and then cook for an additional 15 minutes.
Serve and enjoy!
Notes
The thinner you slice your potatoes the more chips you will have and the quicker they will cook.
Since the cook time partially depends on the thickness of the potato slices, you may need to add an extra 5 minutes. Your chips should be golden brown and crispy.
You can easily customize the flavor of your chips by adding paprika, pepper, chili powder, or any other spices.
Store your chips in an airtight container or Ziploc bag on the counter for 5 days.
After 5 days the chips will start to get stale.
Allowing the chips to sit in water helps draw out some of the starch, allowing the chips to cook faster.
