In a medium sized pan or small pot, melt the butter over medium heat. Once the butter is completely melted, stir in the flour using a wooden spoon until the ingredients are homogenous.
Add the half and half, garlic powder, pepper, and salt. Stir gently to combine while keeping the pan over medium heat.
Gently fold in the Parmesan cheese and allow the sauce to cook for about 3-5 minutes over medium heat until thickened. Stir constantly.
Serve and enjoy!
Notes
This makes enough sauce for one medium to large pizza, about 14-16 inches.
It is important to stir your sauce constantly to prevent it from burning or sticking to the bottom of the pan.
If you don’t use this sauce immediately then you can store it in an airtight container in the fridge for up to a week. It’s important to note that your sauce will thicken in the fridge. You can reheat it on the stovetop over medium heat with a tiny bit of cream or milk to help thin it out a little.
If you have fresh garlic then feel free to use 2-3 cloves of fresh garlic instead. Make sure your butter and flour are fully combined. This will help thicken your sauce and ensuring they’re combined will prevent your sauce from becoming clumpy.
If you don’t have half and half then you can use whole milk or heavy cream.
