1 1/2 to 2tablespoonsground cinnamonadjust to taste
Instructions
In a small bowl, combine 1/2 cup of granulated sugar and 1 1/2 tablespoons of ground cinnamon.
Taste the cinnamon sugar mixture and, if you prefer a stronger cinnamon flavor, you can add an additional 1/2 tablespoon of ground cinnamon (for a total of 2 tablespoons). Adjust according to your taste.
Use a spoon or whisk to thoroughly mix the sugar and cinnamon until they are well combined.
Ensure that there are no clumps, and the cinnamon is evenly distributed.
Your homemade cinnamon sugar is ready to use! You can store it in an airtight container for later use or use it immediately to sprinkle on toast, pancakes, waffles, oatmeal, or any other dish that could benefit from a sweet and cinnamon touch.
Notes
I normally buy organic granulated sugar and it has a much larger sugar crystal than traditional white sugar. For cinnamon and sugar, the smaller commercial white sugar distributes itself better and mixed better with the cinnamon.
There's lots of different kinds of cinnamons if you want to look into them for different flavors.
I like to keep and wash out an empty spice shaker to store my cinnamon and sugar in.
