This is not your typical store bought hot cocoa! Mexican Hot Chocolate is creamy, rich and made with really simple ingredients like chocolate and sugar!
Unwrap the tablet and set it in the bottom of a medium saucepan.
Add the milk and turn the heat on the medium.
Whisk constantly until the milk gets very steamy and the chocolate tablet fully dissolves, about 5 minutes.
It's normal to have little flecks of chocolate floating on the top of the hot chocolate.
Divide between 4 mugs and serve right away.
Notes
This hot chocolate is much less sweet than traditional hot chocolate.
You can top the hot chocolate with marshmallows, whipped cream, or crushed candy canes if you'd like.
