Chocolate covered strawberries are a delicious and versatile dessert that are easy to make and perfect for any occasion. Whether you're enjoying them on your own or sharing them with friends and family, they're sure to be a hit!
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or wax paper. Set aside.
Rinse the strawberries under cold water and pat them completely dry with a paper towel. Make sure the strawberries are thoroughly dry, any water remaining on the surface will prevent the chocolate from adhering properly.
In a heatproof bowl, add the semi-sweet or milk chocolate chips. Microwave the chocolate chips in 30-second increments, stirring after each interval until the chocolate is fully melted and smooth. Alternatively, you can melt the chocolate using a double boiler on the stovetop.
Hold each strawberry by the leaves and dip it into the melted chocolate, turning it to coat evenly. Gently shake off any excess chocolate.
Place the chocolate-coated strawberries on the prepared baking sheet. Repeat the process with the remaining strawberries.
Transfer the baking sheet to the refrigerator and chill the strawberries for about 30 minutes or until the chocolate has fully set.
Once the chocolate is set, remove the chocolate covered strawberries from the refrigerator. Serve immediately or store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.
Notes
Optional: If you'd like to add a white chocolate drizzle, melt 4 ounces of white chocolate chips using the same method as the semi-sweet or milk chocolate chips. Use a fork or a piping bag with a small tip to drizzle the melted white chocolate over the chocolate-coated strawberries in a zig-zag pattern.
