You nailed it! The bread flour has a high protein and gluten content! That makes the cookies more bread like which is more cakelike!

I’m not really comfortable rating the recipe, as I used bread flour (all that I had available). Otherwise, I followed the recipe exactly. I guess I would try making them again, if I had the correct flour available, but not with bread flour. They were “cakey” with a weird texture and didn’t have a lot of flavor. I’m disappointed, but it could be bread flour just doesn’t work?

Delicious and easy! Used whole wheat pastry flour and natural creamy (runny) peanut butter. I also subbed 1/4c of the flour for cocoa powder for done extra chocolatey flavor and added in some chocolate chips for double chocolate peanut butter cookies. Much sweeter than I expected, but in a good way! Glad for a tasty pb cookie with no refined sugars in the recipe. 😊

I made them but used regular whole wheat flour. I added a few more things (just to my own taste). I put some butter in as I did not have a great deal of peanut butter. I added a bit of coconut, rolled oats, and whole flax seeds for extra fibre as I need it. Love your recipe. I have been wanting a honey only recipe as I no longer bake with sugar.

Wow! These cookies were a little bit chewy and had just enough sweetness. They really hit the spot. I used Cake flour as it was all I had in the house and they still came out great. When I make them again, I will probably try to use 3/4 cup of honey and add an extra 1/4 cup of peanut butter just for interest sake.

Thanks for the recipe!
Blessings from South Africa ❤️

I think it's a personal preference, but if they are staying together and a little soft and you like them, then I think that's a win!
