I’ve been debating what to do with my Sunday posts for a few weeks now. In the past I was preparing a post ahead of time and just hitting publish. I take the concept of Sabbath Day observance seriously and don’t want to “work” when I really don’t have to. This being said, I have decided to take the day off from “fancy blogging” and do something a bit more personal. I’m planning on posting a little about what we did in the week or thoughts on marriage, family, and children. You know, personal stuff.
What do you think? Of course, my first thought is “no one is going to care…” but then I think of other cooking/craft blogs and I love it when they get a little personal! It’s fun to know a little bit about the face behind the work.
So here goes nothing.
The cupcakes that I made for the dessert auction were a hit! I made 3 big boxes, one of which we split up so the kids would have some smaller items to bid on. All in all they brought in exactly $100! $20 total from the individual cupcakes and $40 per box for the other two. Not too shabby if you ask me! I was super excited with how well they sold!
Spring is in the air. This is our first spring in this house. We keep finding little green treasures popping up in the yard. There are going to be hundreds of blooms in the coming weeks. Each time I find a new cluster of flowers popping through the ground I can’t help but smile. Hope and excitement are natural effects brought on by the coming of spring. Brown becomes green; the sun shines longer and warmer. It’s just such a positive time. Just the pick-me-up I’ve been needing.
One thing we miss during the winter months is going on hikes. The weather was so warm today that we ventured up the mountain to see what we could see.
Now we are having a family sleepover in the living room. One perk to having our bed in the living room (and kitchen…) is that family sleepovers are a piece of cake! The babies sleep on the floor and we sneak into our bed once they are asleep. Great arrangement!
Well, there you have it. A more personal post. I started this blog so that my kids would know all of the fun things that I did with them and for them. I think these posts will help them to know me more too.
