Chemical Free Air Freshener – Holiday Scent

Have you ever thought how candles, air fresheners, and other “scented” things get their scent?  Well they are a fancy slew of chemicals that just happen to smell good.  Not really things that you should just have filling your air.  There is a wonderfully natural way to get your home smelling like the holidays- spices.
Cinnamon sticks
Whole cloves
Whole all spice, if you have it
Peal from an orange, if you have it
In a small sauce pan place cinnamon and cloves and about 3 cups of water.  Put over high heat and bring to a boil.  Boil until things start smelling like Christmas and boil until you are pleased with the smelly amount.  You can add a peel of an orange or whole all spice or any other fancy Christmasy spice to your pot.  You can leave it on your stove and use it as often as you like, adding water when needed.  I’ve had mine for about a week and it still smells good.  I am the type to get a headache with too much scent, but this never has that effect, it also doesn’t linger forever in your house, which I like.  I want to smell the fancy smell when I’m not cooking or eating.  I hate smelling scented things when I’m eating pizza… it just doesn’t work.  If you don’t like it on your stove, place it in a mason jar in your fridge to reuse when you are ready.  Try it!
