My sister is a momma to three little boys which means she is a master of boy birthday parties. She has done some great tractor, dump truck, and character cakes in the past, and this year did not disappoint. Her oldest requested a rocket cake in honor of Mickey Mouse Club House and she went right to work. After seeing the pictures I bugged her to send them to me to post. Thanks Lachelle!
Here’s the rocket cake in all its glory, complete with a moon to orbit:

She used one cake mix and poured it into a 9x13inch pan and a 5 inch round pan (for the moon), and then baked it according to the package. Here are the general details of how she cut the 9×13 cake pan to make the rocket. You can click to enlarge the picture:

She then whipped up some buttercream icing, tinted it with food coloring and decorated away.

Didn’t that Rocketship Birthday Cake turn out cute? Her kids loved it so much that the same cake has been requested for another birthday at the end of the month, but he wants it to be green.

Thanks so much for sharing, Sista. And thanks so much for reading, dear Reader.
