She used one cake mix and poured it into a 9x13inch pan and a 5 inch round pan (for the moon), and then baked it according to the package. Here are the general details of how she cut the 9x13 cake pan to make the rocket. You can click to enlarge the picture:
She then whipped up some buttercream icing, tinted it with food coloring and decorated away.
Didn't that Rocketship Birthday Cake turn out cute? Her kids loved it so much that the same cake has been requested for another birthday at the end of the month, but he wants it to be green.
