Description

This is not your typical store bought hot cocoa! Mexican Hot Chocolate is creamy, rich and made with really simple ingredients like chocolate and sugar!

Ingredients

Scale

Instructions

  • Unwrap the tablet and set it in the bottom of a medium saucepan.
  • Add the milk and turn the heat on the medium.
  • Whisk constantly until the milk gets very steamy and the chocolate tablet fully dissolves, about 5 minutes.
  • It's normal to have little flecks of chocolate floating on the top of the hot chocolate.
  • Divide between 4 mugs and serve right away.

Notes

  • This hot chocolate is much less sweet than traditional hot chocolate.
  • You can top the hot chocolate with marshmallows, whipped cream, or crushed candy canes if you'd like.
  • You can find this brand of hot chocolate tablets in most grocery stores or if you are having trouble finding it you can go to a Mexican grocery store or order it online.
