Description
This is not your typical store bought hot cocoa! Mexican Hot Chocolate is creamy, rich and made with really simple ingredients like chocolate and sugar!
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 round tablet of Nestle Abuelita Mexican Hot Chocolate
- 4 cups milk, we prefer whole milk
Instructions
- Unwrap the tablet and set it in the bottom of a medium saucepan.
- Add the milk and turn the heat on the medium.
- Whisk constantly until the milk gets very steamy and the chocolate tablet fully dissolves, about 5 minutes.
- It's normal to have little flecks of chocolate floating on the top of the hot chocolate.
- Divide between 4 mugs and serve right away.
Notes
- This hot chocolate is much less sweet than traditional hot chocolate.
- You can top the hot chocolate with marshmallows, whipped cream, or crushed candy canes if you'd like.
- You can find this brand of hot chocolate tablets in most grocery stores or if you are having trouble finding it you can go to a Mexican grocery store or order it online.
