I have been so excited about this idea! These cupcakes are so quick and easy and oh so cute! I thought of 3 ways you could use the same idea. Do read on for the details!
How to: Flower Cupcakes
What you will need:
Cupcakes (I just used a box of cake mix…)
Icing
Peanut butter M&M’s (you could use plain; I just love how fat the PB ones are!)
Jet-Puffed HeartMallows (heart-shaped marshmallows)
Scissors
Knife for spreading incing
Ice the cupcakes with your frosting. Cut a bunch of the heart-shaped marshmallows in half (down the center of the heart) with your scissors. These are the petals of the flower! Stick the petals on the icing with the tip of the heart to the center. I used 8 “petals” for each flower. Dab a little icing on the ‘M’ side of your M&M and put it in the middle of the petals. That’s it! You just made a flower cupcake! Now repeat this but at one less petal each time… get it? He loves me, He loves me not.
Idea 1: For your Love
Use an even number of petals and the last petal will be “He loves me!” Make a cute little tags that say “He loves me!” and “He loves me not.” You will need 4 of each. Place them on each cupcake and leave a little note with them. You can see my note a few pictures down.
Idea 2: For the “Singles Awareness Day” kind of people or your bestie who is single on Valentine’s Day!
Just leave a “He loves me not.” tag on the last cupcake with a cute little note that says something along the lines of – who needs love when you have cake!
Idea 3: For anyone who might just want some “flowers” on Valentine’s Day
Make the cupcakes like the first, without leaving any petals off. You can use different colored middles too. I made a little bouquet card and stuck it in the tines of a plastic fork to be reminiscent of the card that comes in fresh flowers!
This was super simple! I am having my preschool kids makes these for their Mom’s for a little gift! They are quick and simple with very little preparation.
