Man oh man! We put the house on the market yesterday and it hardly feels real. We still have finish work to do (doorknobs, trim, windowsills…) but our Realtor didn’t think those things were eye-soars enough to not list it. We’ll keep plugging away at the do-to list and people are welcome to come and see the house in the mean time. She said all we needed to do was make sure people knew we would finish and write all that up in a contract and it wouldn’t be a big deal to start showing it. We really trust her and thought we might as well get the ball rolling.
I just read that the median days on the market for our area is 62 days. That sure doesn’t seem very long! I’m not holding my breath for a quick sale at all. I have mentally prepared for it to take all summer, and my secret hope is that it will sell before Halloween. That’s an OK goal right?! Of course sooner would be great, but I won’t start to feel worried until October. And we are moving to Husband’s hometown at the end of April with or without a sale, so the only hindrance in a slow sale is financial. Keep your fingers crossed though because we need all the good luck that we can get!

If you are new to the blog you should really check out the Our Biggest Mess tab at the top of the page. We have come so far on this project in the last 18 months and to really appreciate where we are, you’ve got to see where we are coming from! Did you know I washed dishes in a bucket for 9 months last winter (!!!). There was a bridge in the house?! That we moved the stairs to the basement?! That the laundry room used to be a nasty little bathroom (which the original stairs were in!).
And I’ve said it before, but moving is so bitter sweet for me. I’m excited to move “home” with my husband (his hometown has been our goal since before we were married), but we adore the town we are in now. Plus all this work and I will never get to move into that fancy master bedroom. I just hope that the next owner really really loves it (and doesn’t change a thing! LOL)
Ooooh. This is exciting and I’ll keep you posted. If you know anyone moving to Themiddleofnowhere, Utah give me a call!

So exciting…especially that you won’t have to live there through all the showings, LOL :). We sold a house once after having over 100 showings. And I left the house with my two little ones for every single one. It was crazy! Good luck finishing up!

It’s beautiful! I think it will sell fast 🙂
