Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 cups powdered sugar
  • 2 1/2 cups powdered milk
  • 1 cup cocoa
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons corn starch

Instructions

  1. Add all the ingredients to a large bowl and stir with a wire whisk to combine.
  2. Store in a large air-tight container in the pantry – it will keep for a long time.

  1. I’ve made several recipes of homemade hot cocoa mix. Yours is by far the best. I was skeptical of the cornstarch but it added some body to the end result and no clumping. I added it to milk. Thank you. I’m using as Xmas gifts with homemade marshmallows and candy canes.

    1. Whole would be preferred but I can’t find it easily so I normally use the non-fat powdered milk. You’re free to use what you like or have on hand!

  2. This cocoa comes out good but it is very sweet and I don’t think it works well for instant hot cocoa. The cornstarch end up sitting in the bottom of the cup.

  3. I love this recipe; it’s so simple and delicious! My husband stays in hot chocolate mode from November through March, so it’s nice to have a huge batch of this always ready.
