This is the garden I always imagined for you. Also, don't you think blogging is like the modern quilting bee? You put it out there about sweet pea being safe to eat and someone knew the answer. A nice little circle of women sharing and caring. Love it!

Also, good job on surviving Macy's first day. I thought about your often Monday. Tomorrow is Emma's...first grade...too big.... Also, what confidence she must has gotten from tackling school because riding a bike with no training wheels takes so much confidence, school must have thrown her over the edge! Go Mama!

*I wasn't really excited about my cucumbers being ruined - I was really excited to have those delish, sweet, full of aroma garden cucumbers. :) I was just reading through my comment and wanted to clear that up!

wow! How exciting! Squash bugs killed my pumpkins, too. I'm so sorry. It totally bummed me out, too. I also found out you can't plant your cucumber next to your zucchini - rookie mistake I guess. But that ruined my cucumbers (which I was really excited about). Sigh. But the bounty of other things is slowly making up for the lost ones :). I forgot you are 30 weeks pregnant?!! You are getting so close! Good luck and happy gardening!

Your garden is Amazing! Mine is forlorn. It was just an off year. I am so sorry about your pumpkins. Pumpkins are my favorite thing to grow. They are so magical for the kids to watch. Horny toads will eat those squash bugs for you. And your boys will like to watch for them. Just don't run over them with your mower when weeding. Good luck!

Oh your post makes me homesick for my parents gardens in Maine and for Utah at the same time! We just moved to the Midwest from Utah and your pictures are killing me. My husband grew upon Delta so I have a soft spot for small town Utah. Ad large gardens because my parents have about three acres of gardens! My favorite flower in the garden is gladiolus. Easy to grow, beautiful, and last well when cut. And I love your fake weeding! Go for it!

Oh my gosh! Everything looks so beautiful. I have lots to say! In bullet form:

• Zinnia are my favorites, too. Actually, dahlias are my favorite, but dahlias are a pain in the bum to grow, and zinnias are just smaller, much easier-to-grow versions.
• Our corn was tiny this year, too! I think around here it was because we didn't get enough heat. They were tassling before they were even knee high. We picked a few ears the other day, and they couldn't have been longer than my index finger. Definitely not normal Indiana corn.
• Your squash look amazing! We had the devil insects this year, too. And they killed almost everything except one butternut squash plant that is KILLING it. We probably have 7-8 squash growing on just that one plant. Thankfully.
