I have been doing a search on Ham, fresh green beans and new potatoes but I added 2 chopped heirloom beefsteak tomatoes plus fresh corn cut off the cob. I used a diced ham steak and added chopped sweet onion with chicken broth, s&p to taste. I suppose I could have used a bit of garlic powder to the mix but did not. Anyway just wanted to share my version of farmers market finds.

This has been a favorite in my family for awhile, we always called it poor mans stew. We dont do the corn & most of the time it was made with just green beans, onions & potatoes. We let the potatoes cook down until it forms a stew & If they were lucky they would have a ham bone to put in it, hence the name. No matter what the name is, it is delish!

This is a long time favorite at our house, easy to make, quick, and so comforting. A great summer dish when it's too hot to use the oven or stand over a hot stove. It works great in the crock pot too. :) I never thought about putting the corn in though...but I will next time we make it. Thanks.

Thanks for posting this super simple recipe. We just made it with leftover smoked ham. I also added garlic cloves and fresh rosemary. It was so tasty and my husband and I both enjoyed it!

We make this in a crock pot. We use, sausage, ham or just about any meat you want. It's so simple & easy. It's a great basic recipe. We have also put in bell pepper &/or corn. Delicious!
