I’ve been scared my whole life to fry anything, but my kids have been begging for homemade beignets after having them at a restaurant. I followed this recipe exactly and they came out perfectly! It was shockingly easy and my daughter said, “This is the best thing you’ve ever made”, and is now requesting them on her birthday! Definitely a keeper recipe – thank you!!!

Don’t overcook! They should be light golden brown (evenly) then flip not dark golden brown. As you get closer to the end of your batch frying, they might be browner faster so just watch for that. Also serve while they are hot! Add some honey, powdered sugar and they are great to serve with warmed up jam.

Came out very nicely. Kids did the powdered sugar and I don’t think I needed to ever say more lol. They ate them up faster than I could cook them. Made a few sopapillas with cinnamon sugar too and they were also delicious. Great recipe.

Maybe fix bake time which reads one hour at top of recipe whereas in recipe it says 12-18 hours for rise time. Hoping to make these for breakfast this morning but I guess we will have them for desert tonight.
