In reply to Diane. My husband and I built our house in Northern Michigan just like you and your husband did! It took us 1598 calendar days from Breaking ground to our occupancy permit. What an incredible experience!

I love that you had to specify you are building it yourself and not having others build it for you 🙂 🙂 🙂 the latter seems to have become quite popular but your process is WAY cooler! I love seeing all the hard work you guys are putting in to your forever home. It will all be worth it in the end! And go Thomas!! You got a keeper 🙂

so so exciting! I love hearing about the progress. I totally feel your pain on the fees, when we went in to get our building permit and turn on our utilities to the building site it cost $11,000! I’m not even kidding. I almost died when I wrote that check out. It was a sad day. Fingers crossed the construction loan works out soon, that is so annoying and stressful! Can’t wait to come see it all in person!!!!
