Can you believe it’s almost popsicle season again?! I’ll admit that I own at least three different types of popsicles molds and we make up new kinds every other day. I rarely buy them from the store because we always have something delicious in the freezer. And when they are made from mostly fruit, I have no guilt in letting the kids eat them all day long for snacks (they go well with popcorn in our opinion). I’m eating them right along with them; I love me a popsicle.
I do have to admit that I’ve been dreaming of a Zoku Popsicle Maker since last summer though. Rumor has it that this little popsicles maker can have your popsicles frozen solid in something like 7 minutes! No more waiting over night… Hey! Maybe I’ll bug them and see if they’ll send me one and let me give another one away to you guys. Would anyone else want a ninja popsicle maker?! Ooh, I’ll see what I can do!
In the mean time, you’ll have to enjoy these strawberry banana popsicles and make them the old-fashioned way in the freezer.
Popsicle lovers unite!
- 1 pound strawberries, washed and stems removed
- 1 large ripe banana
- 1/2 cup vanilla yogurt
- 1/2 cup milk
- sugar to taste, optional
Add the strawberries, banana, milk, and yogurt to the bowl of a food processor or blender and blend until smooth. Taste and add sugar if needed, depending on the ripeness of your fruit and your taste preferences.
Pour the liquid into popsicle molds, insert the handles, and freeze until firm, generally overnight.
Enjoy frozen the next day!
I didn't add any sugar to mine and the kids didn't even mind. They weren't really very sweet but no one complained when it came time to eat them :)
