Easter Bunny Inspiration

Easter is just a few days away but you still have time to make some thoughtful gifts. My mother-in-law is making the little granddaughters Easter dresses and I made them each a bunny to match the dress. They turned out well and I know the girlies will love them. The idea comes from Ginger Cake. This is the same blog that I got the idea for my owl purses from. She’s a genius. You can buy a PDF pattern for the bunnies (or owls). The pattern is emailed to you after you purchase it, so you can buy it now and still have a few days to get it done; no waiting for a pattern to come in the mail. I didn’t buy the pattern; I just used her pictures and idea for inspiration.

Here are how a few of my bunnies turned out:

The girls’ dresses are the plaid material with the green as an accent. I can’t wait to have pictures of all of the girls wearing their dresses and holding their bunnies.

I made 6 bunnies in all. I didn’t want my little boys to miss out, so I made them one, too. I am planning on making a necktie and a bow-tie for their bunnies instead of the bow.

I used this tutorial to make the yarn pom-poms for their tails. I bought the cutest, softest yarn ever. It feels like minky. I was disappointed with it though; when cut it sheds terribly and unravels. Oh well, lesson learned.

Are any of you making handmade gifts for Easter this year? I’d love to hear or see what you have planned!
